How Sablike Sàrl handles account information, contributions, browser storage and optional services on Camping.im.

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Who is responsible?

The operator and data controller for this website is Sablike Sàrl, Rue de la Colline 10B, 2830 Courrendlin, Switzerland. To ask a privacy question or exercise your rights, use our contact form or write to this postal address.

Information we process

When you create an account, we process your email address, a hashed password, display name, language preference and any avatar you provide. Reviews, ratings, uploaded media, favourite listings, place suggestions and ownership requests are stored to deliver those features. Public contributions and your associated display name and avatar may be visible to other visitors. Your password is not published.

Contact forms process the details and message you submit. An enquiry addressed to a campsite is shared with its recipient, who is responsible for its subsequent handling. Do not include sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

Security and moderation

We record activity needed to protect accounts, investigate abuse and moderate contributions. Depending on the action and hosting setup, this can include account identifiers, IP address, browser information, approximate country, timestamps and the action taken. Server and email-delivery logs may also contain technical information. We restrict access to authorised administrators and service providers who need it.

Cookies and browser storage

The website uses a first-party session cookie named catalog_session for account sessions and security checks. It is configured as HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, with Secure enabled when the site is served over HTTPS. It has no persistent expiry and normally lasts for the browser session, although a browser can restore sessions.

Your manually selected language can be saved in localStorage. Search filters, map position and related preferences can be saved in sessionStorage to make returning to the directory easier. These preferences are not advertising profiles. You can clear them through your browser’s site-data controls; blocking storage can affect sign-in and saved preferences.

Optional first-party statistics

When statistics are enabled, the website records pages and listings visited, interaction events, approximate visit duration, referral information, country where supplied by the hosting service, language and broad device/browser details. A visit identifier is stored in sessionStorage. Statistics can be linked to a signed-in account. The statistics database uses a hashed IP-derived identifier rather than storing the raw IP for this purpose; these records are pseudonymous, not necessarily anonymous.

Approved listing owners may see performance statistics for their listings when this feature is enabled. The default statistics retention setting is 365 days, with cleanup performed during collection; the operator can change it. The tracker is configured to respect the Do Not Track request when that setting is enabled. The built-in directory does not include advertising pixels or cross-site advertising cookies; separately configured integrations can change this.

Maps, media and external services

Displaying maps, fonts, images and interface libraries can involve requests to third-party servers. These providers receive technical information such as your IP address and request headers. The standard installation uses OpenFreeMap maps and CDN-hosted libraries; font and other providers depend on configuration. Opening an external website or navigation service is subject to that service’s privacy terms.

If you choose to play an embedded YouTube video, the player is loaded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain. Playback still connects to YouTube and may involve its own storage and data processing. If Google reCAPTCHA is enabled on a form, it processes information for abuse prevention; it is disabled in the default configuration.

If paid listing plans are available and you proceed to payment, Stripe handles the payment process under its privacy terms. We receive payment-status and plan information needed to manage your listing, not your full payment card details. Providers may process information outside Switzerland; the applicable safeguards depend on the provider and arrangements used by the operator.

Location access

Browser location access is optional and helps position the map. You can refuse it or revoke permission in your browser. When you suggest a place or adjust its marker, the coordinates you submit become part of the listing; do not submit a private home address unless you intend it to be public.

Retention and your rights

We retain information for the purposes described above, account administration, security and applicable legal obligations. Retention of operational logs and backups depends on the hosting setup. When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or anonymised, subject to obligations and legitimate preservation needs.

You can request information about your personal data and, where applicable, correction, deletion or other rights under the law that applies to you. We may need proportionate verification of your identity. Contact us using the details above; you can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or another competent supervisory authority.

We may update this notice when services or processing practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. This notice should be read alongside the settings and services actually enabled on the website.
